COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- A stabbing victim covered in blood and left for dead at a Motel 6 in Costa Mesa was caught on surveillance video wandering Monday morning.

The victim, a 25-year-old man stabbed in his torso, was spotted stumbling down Newport Boulevard at about 4 a.m. with his left side covered in blood.

Investigators spent hours at the hotel located on the 2400 block of Newport Boulevard.

Officials stated the victim and a woman had an argument at the hotel. After she left, police said a white Dodge Charger pulled up, a man got out, and got into a fight with the victim.

Investigators said the suspects, believed to be in their mid-20s, fled the scene in the Dodge.

"On the stair case, at the very top, I mean, it's just everywhere, you know, blood drenched towels everywhere," Awais Alzakwani, a hotel guest said.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital in grave condition, but he was expected to survive.

Investigators asked for help locating the Dodge with California license plate 7GGU549.
