CANYON COUNTRY, Santa Clarita (KABC) -- Police are investigating what they're calling a child annoyance in Canyon Country.

Around 7 a.m. Tuesday, a 15-year-old girl was walking to school along Soledad Canyon Road near Shangri-La Drive.

That's when police say a suspect drove up in a green convertible Audi and told her to get in.

She started screaming at him and caused a commotion.

When the suspect drove off, the girl grabbed her cellphone and recorded him. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the girl's photo led to them to identifying the suspect.

He was detained and questioned for a short time but was not arrested.

The investigation is ongoing. Detectives will turn in their findings to the district attorney.
