Surf dogs hit the waves in Costa Mesa expo

Some doggone cute surfers took to the waves at the Orange County fairgrounds to compete for a spot on a 2017 Rose Parade float.

COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- Some very talented dogs hit the waves in Costa Mesa on Saturday.

The surf dogs were hanging 10 as part of the America's Family Pet Expo at the Orange County fairgrounds.

The surfing pups are competing for a spot on the Lucy Pet Foundation 2017 Rose Parade float.

Many of the dogs are rescue animals.
