Mother claims teacher's aide molested child at Pacoima preschool
Daisy Munoz claims her 3-year-old son was molested by a teacher's aide at a preschool in Pacoima, according to her attorney.

PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A mother accused a teacher's aide of molesting her 3-year-old son at a preschool in Pacoima.

Daisy Munoz said her child hasn't been the same since attending Miguel Montes Head Start Preschool.

"He was wetting his bed and having nightmares," Munoz said.

Munoz said three weeks after the bed wetting and nightmares began, her son told her one of his teachers was touching him.

"She started to dig in and ask him more questions. He became more verbal about what had happened and what the teacher had allegedly done to him," Amy Vahdat, Munoz's attorney said.

Munoz said she's angry with the teacher and upset she couldn't be there to protect her son.

"There needs to be justice," Munoz stated.

Munoz said she wants the teacher to be punished, and her attorney, who plans to file a lawsuit this week, believes other children may have been victimized.

"We're asking anyone who may have, who suspects their child may have been allegedly abused by this teacher to come forward," Vahdat said.

The teacher in question, a female teaching assistant at the school, is no longer working in the classroom, according to a statement released by the school:

"Two weeks ago, the Child Care Resource Center received one claim of child abuse at the Miguel Montes Head Start preschool in Pacoima. We immediately reported the allegation to Child Care Licensing and the Los Angeles Police Department, and are cooperating with them. The teaching assistant has been assigned to administrative duties outside the classroom until the investigations are completed. Our foremost concern is the safety and well-being of our students."
