Man shot in leg near restaurant in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was shot in the leg near a Popeyes restaurant in Hollywood early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said they received reports of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. near Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.

It was unclear if the man was shot by another person or if he shot himself, authorities said. Police were searching for a white car with a broken window to see how or if it connected to the shooting.

There were no witnesses at the scene, but police finished canvassing the area by 4:30 a.m.
