LOS ANGELES (KABC) --"The Nice Guys" stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling lead the way in their new movie set in 1977.
Gosling plays a down-on-his-luck private eye, while Crowe is a hired enforcer. The two become unlikely partners to find a missing girl, and it turns out the case goes deeper than that.
"These characters, the pair of them, are so just completely incompetent and incapable. So it makes for a pretty entertaining ride," Crowe said.
Angourie Rice plays Gosling's daughter, and the actress said her friends were jealous of the role.
"My whole friendship group freaked out a lot and said, 'Oh my gosh, you have to tell me about him! Bring him to school if you can. Just bring him to our school and then we'll all get to meet him,'" she said.
Matt Bomer plays the movie's bad guy, the kind of role he's wanted to play for years. His character's name is John Boy.
The movie's tag line is "They're not that nice." You can be the judge for yourself when the movie hits theaters on May 20. It is rated R.
