A computer glitch in San Diego affected flights into Los Angeles International Airport Thursday morning, the FAA said.

LAX was notified by the FAA about an "equipment outage" around 7:20 a.m., which triggered a brief ground stop for all flights in and out of the airport, authorities said.

The FAA emphasized that the incident was not considered a full ground stop, and LAX was the only impacted airport.

Though some flights were still landing and taking off, delays were still possible, the FAA said.

The limited ground stop was lifted around 9 a.m., but residual delays were expected throughout the morning, officials said.

Some flights from the West Coast headed for LAX were kept on the ground in their cities of origin.

Technicians were working to fix the problem, but travelers with plans in or out of LAX were urged to check with their airlines for possible delays.

City News Service contributed to this report.
