A suspect who led police on a dangerous pursuit through East Los Angeles jumped from the window as the vehicle was moving in the Hacienda Heights area.

Police chased a white vehicle in a dangerous pursuit through the East Los Angeles area Friday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol said the chase began at about 3:05 p.m. on the 605 Freeway heading northbound near the 105 Freeway.

The vehicle, which officials said was stolen, was driven erratically, at times on the wrong side of the street in an attempt to evade law enforcement.

The chase went through East Los Angeles, Santa Fe Springs, Whittier, Turnbull Canyon and Hacienda Heights.

While driving through the Hacienda Heights area, the suspect jumped from the car's driver-side window as the vehicle was moving in Turnbull Canyon.

The suspect ran into a heavily wooded area near a home as officers canvassed the area.

The suspect was later located and taken into custody without incident.
