Man robbed, shot in hip while leaving Hollywood Hills party

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect shot a man in the hip and stole $600 from him after he had left a Hollywood Hills house party early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the victim was leaving a party in the 8100 block of Kirkwood Drive around 3:30 a.m. when he was confronted by a suspect. The suspect demanded money and shot the victim in his left hip when he was ignored.

The victim fell to the ground and the suspect walked over to take $600 in cash. The victim was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in stable condition.

Authorities said the victim had collected the cash from a friend at the party and believe the suspect witnessed the victim receiving the money.

The suspect fled the scene in a 2003-2006 model silver 7-series BMW. The suspect hit two parked cars and may have damage on his passenger's side. The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s.
