ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- An Ontario doctor is crying foul after he says his office received a phone bill from Frontier Communications that surpassed half a million dollars.

Dr. Brad Katzman shared his story with ABC7 using #abc7eyewitness.

He says his normal bill for his office line is around $800. But this month, it was more than $599,000.

He says it stems from fraudulent calls to Cuba for 120,000 minutes.

"When I contacted Frontier, I've had numerous conversations with different people every time I call, and they're telling me that my phone number was hacked and that I'm responsible for these calls unless I can secure my phone lines and prove to them that the calls did not come from this business," Katzman said.

Frontier Communications has come under fire in recent months. It all began when the company took over Verizon.

The company released a statement saying they take fraud seriously, and that customers don't need to pay the disputed portion of a bill until an investigation is complete.
