Burbank lifeguard accused of taking photos, video of juveniles

BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Police arrested a 23-year-old city of Burbank lifeguard for allegedly using his cellphone to take photos and video of women and juveniles, according to authorities from the Burbank Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to Verdugo Park Pool in the 3200 block of W. Verdugo Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. on June 22. Upon arrival, authorities learned Sun Valley resident Arturo Montano used his phone to take video and photos of females in the employee locker room and a public restroom, Burbank PD stated in a press release.

Police found evidence on Montano's cell phone, which police said supported allegations he was taking photographs.

Detectives secured a search warrant for Montano's home and seized evidence that showed footage of both underage and adult victims.

Several of the women and girls were identified and expected to be contacted and interviewed, police stated in the press release.

Montano was arrested and booked into the Burbank City Jail for possessing images of a minor, and on six counts of concealing a camera to videotape the less than fully clothed bodies of others without their knowledge for the purpose of sexual gratification.

Montano's bail was set at $170,000, and he was due to appear in court later this week.
