Thanks to very generous animal lovers, pets who were destined to be put down are getting a second chance at a life of love.

Several dogs and cats have been stuck in Los Angeles County animal shelters for months, and many of them would likely have been euthanized in a few days.

Wings of Rescue was packing the animals up and shipping them out to places that, believe it or not, are in need of shelter pets.

"We take a Noah's Ark of the pets - cats, kittens, big dogs, pit bulls. It's amazing that every one of them finds homes quickly," said Yehuda Netanel of the group.

Brad Kriser of Natural Pet Food raised $22,000 to transport over 350 dogs and cats to Seattle and New Jersey to be adopted.

"Do I think it's our responsibility to be able to give back to our community, give back to our pets that really do need this and give so much in return? They really do. So, we're actually the winners in this situation when we help out," said Kriser.

This also significantly helps out overcrowded shelters in L.A., which get packed with pets mainly in the summertime.

"This is a quick way to save those animals, which otherwise would not be here tomorrow," added Netanel.

Wings of Rescue operates solely on donations and has saved 20,000 animals, taking them out of a seemingly hopeless situations and giving them a whole new lease on life.
