Police chase stolen SUV through South LA
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department chased a stolen SUV through the streets of South Los Angeles.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police chased a stolen vehicle through the streets of South Los Angeles on Monday.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department pursued the Chevrolet Tahoe as it was driven erratically at high speeds, swerving through traffic and even hitting other vehicles.

The pursuit began at about 8:50 p.m., officials stated. The driver hit speeds up to 90 mph as he circled around the 110 and 105 freeways and adjacent city streets.

The chase came to a stop near 59th Street and Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles at about 9:45 p.m.

The stolen SUV had visible damage to the front tires, possibly caused by spike strips.

The driver appeared to be receiving medical attention after the chase ended. The suspect was taken to hospital by ambulance.

His condition was not immediately available from officials.
