HIGHLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- A stolen vehicle suspect was arrested Monday night after leading police on a chase through freeways in Highland.

The chase started around 10:42 a.m. near East Highland and North Victoria avenues. The driver, suspected of stealing the vehicle, eventually went on the 210 Freeway where the California Highway Patrol took over.

A spike strip was used near San Dimas Avenue as the driver transitioned onto the southbound 57 Freeway. The vehicle's tires blew out, but the driver continued for some time.

The chase eventually ended on the 57 Freeway near the 71 Freeway overpass. The driver surrendered and was taken into custody.
