Woman killed after single-car rollover crash on 5 Freeway in Sylmar

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several lanes of the northbound 5 Freeway in Sylmar were shut down early Tuesday morning following a single-car crash that left a woman dead.

Authorities said around 2:50 a.m., a white Jeep Cherokee crashed into a pole and rolled over several times before coming to rest in the truck lane of the freeway, just north of the 210 Freeway transition.

A woman in her 20s was killed, and it was unclear what caused her to crash into the pole.

Three lanes were closed for a few hours as California Highway Patrol officers investigated the scene.
