13-year-old boy arrested for allegedly attacking elderly Highland woman with brick

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after he allegedly attacked an 80-year-old woman with a brick in front of her Highland home.

On July 17, police said the victim walked outside to her front yard and found the suspect, described as a neighborhood kid, arguing with his sister.

When the victim told the two to stop fighting in front of her residence, the boy picked up a brick and threw it at the woman, striking her in the leg. Authorities said the woman suffered a significant injury that required treatment at a hospital.

After the boy assaulted the woman with the brick, police said he picked up another brick and shattered the woman's car window.

The boy was arrested and booked at juvenile hall on suspicion of elder abuse.
