THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KABC) -- This week's ABC7 Cool Kid is Justin Aguilar, who volunteers at a free clinic to provide medical services to low-income families in Thousand Oaks.

"I've always know that I wanted to help people, and so I decided why not get into an organization that is very hands-on," Aguilar said.

After his grandfather was diagnosed with diabetes, the 17-year-old decided to volunteer with the "Corazones Sanos" program. The program provides free medical services for low-income families and train high school students who are interested in the medical field.

"He is a special student, but actually we saw so much leadership in him that he became one of our student managers and helps run the clinic," said Lisa Safaeinili, executive director of the Westminster Free Clinic.
