ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are investigating possible arson after a truck was lit on fire with the driver still inside in Anaheim.

Police responded to the 2500 block of Underhill Avenue at Pioneer Park around 1:05 a.m. A man said his truck was set on fire while he was taking a nap inside.

He told authorities he pulled into the parking lot of the park for a quick nap when he woke up to a group of people pouring gas on the truck.

The man said he got out of the truck to try and follow the people who poured gas on his truck. That's when a backpack containing cash and his passport was stolen from his backseat. When he got back to his truck it was engulfed in flames.

He was treated at the scene for gasoline burns to his eyes.
