Happy birthday LA! Angelenos re-enact settlers' nine-mile walk
To mark the 235th birthday of Los Angeles, some Angelenos on Saturday re-enacted the nine-mile walk of the original Pobladores who founded the pueblo on Sept. 4, 1781.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles celebrates its 235th birthday next month.

To mark the occasion in advance, some Angelenos on Saturday re-enacted the walk of the original Pobladores who founded the little pueblo of Los Angeles on Sept. 4, 1781.

The nine-mile trek begins at the San Gabriel Mission and goes to the El Pueblo state historical site at Olvera Street, just as the city's first citizens did after they arrived from Mexico.
