With the Mexican Independence Day Parade, the Los Angeles Rams' first home opener in decades, a big country music concert and The Emmys, Southern California is heading for its biggest and busiest weekend of the year.

The weekend was kicked off with the annual El Grito Mexican Independence Day celebration.

Thousands gathered in Grand Park for the evening's headliners: Los Tigres del Norte.

On Saturday night in Anaheim, another Grammy-award winner, Garth Brooks, will be playing the Honda Center.

On Sunday, there will be major events from morning till night, and ABC7 has you covered the entire way.

It begins with the 70th annual East LA Mexican Independence Day Parade, which you can see live on ABC7. The biggest and oldest Latino parade in the country will once again be hosted by Jovana Lara and Danny Romero.

Then, a few miles to the west, the L.A. Memorial Coliseum welcomes home the Rams, who will host the Seattle Seahawks in their home opener. It will be their first home game in the coliseum since 1979.

And finally, while the Rams game is winding down, the Emmy Awards will be heating up. Jimmy Kimmel will host the show.
