HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --"The Matchbreaker," a romantic comedy starring Christina Grimmie as the female lead, opens four months following the tragedy of her death.
After a concert in June, the former contestant on "The Voice" was shot by obsessed fan Kevin Loibl, while taking pictures and signing autographs.

At "The Matchbreaker" premiere Tuesday night, her co-stars greeted fans just as Grimmie so lovingly did.
Safety was a concern, but only to a point, according to co-star Ben Davies.
"In my acting career, I've had people I've had to block or have restraining orders against or whatever," Davies said. "And that's part of it and, you know, you just hope a tragedy like that won't happen."

"But you can't live your day thinking about that either, you know? You got to keep doing what Christina did, which is try to teach all those people, all those kids that looked up to her," Davies continued.
Fellow cast member and YouTube star Olan Rogers understands the safety concern in today's new world of celebrity.
"If I'm going to die and if somebody comes and tries to kill me and I'm out doing something that I generally love, which is meeting people that connected me and have watched my videos, then that's the way I go," he said.
Leading man Wesley Elder believed the fun, happy movie about love and looking past imperfections would help people remember Grimmie.
"I think everybody's really excited to see the movie and it's a good representation of her, so we're really excited to share it," Elder said.

Grimmie's childhood friend Lauren Longo flew from New Jersey for the premiere and reminisced about her late friend.
"She's just the most loyal friend that you could ever have and just so full of love and so loyal for so long," Longo said. "So it's just like, it's the least that we can do."
"The Matchbreaker" will be in Los Angeles area theatres beginning Friday and will be available on digital platforms in early December.
