Woman, 2 children stabbed by burglar in Costa Mesa apartment

COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- A mother and her two children were stabbed when they came home to find a burglar in their apartment in Costa Mesa Tuesday night, witnesses and police said.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Wallace Avenue.

Neighbors tell Eyewitness News that the woman interrupted a burglary in progress at her apartment and that she did not know the suspect.

The woman and her children were undergoing medical treatment.

Police responded and found the suspect nearby, with one officer sustaining minor wounds during the arrest.
