Traffic jams, street closures expected for Obama's LA visit

The president's visit on Monday and Tuesday is expected to generate traffic jams and street closures in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

Prepare for more traffic than usual on Monday, when President Barack Obama visits Los Angeles.

The president is visiting to sit down with late night host Jimmy Jimmy Kimmel one more time before he leaves office.

Obama previously appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in March 2015, when he did a special edition of "Mean Tweets" that has racked up more than 46 million views.



The president also has a pair of fundraisers scheduled through Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Police Department has released a list of expected street closures for the president's visit to the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills areas:

- The area around Sherman Way between Clybourn Avenue & Coldwater Canyon Avenue from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

- The Hollywood (170) and Hollywood (101) freeways from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

- The area around Highland Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sunset Boulevard from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday

- The 101 and San Diego (405) freeways from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

- The area around Sunset Boulevard between Woodburn and North Palm drives from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

- The area around Sunset Boulevard between Woodburn and Palm drives from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday

- The 405 and Santa Monica (10) freeways from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m on Tuesday.

- The area around South Centinela Avenue between Ocean Park and West Pico boulevards between noon and 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police report the following closures and traffic restrictions will impact the following locations:

- In Hollywood, the east and westbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and North Orange Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.

- In Hollywood, the east and westbound lanes of Hawthorne Avenue between Highland Avenue and N. Orange Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday.

- In Beverly Hills, the north and southbound lanes of North Loma Vista Drive between Wallace Ridge and Dabney Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday.

- In Beverly Hills, the east and westbound lanes of Sunset Boulevard between North Whittier and North Bedford drives will be closed to vehicular traffic between 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
