SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KABC) -- A semitrailer overturned Tuesday evening on the 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita, prompting an overnight closure of two southbound lanes.

The crash happened at about 10:20 p.m. near McBean Parkway, where the big rig went over the side of an embankment and spilled its payload of cardboard, according to the California Highway Patrol. An hourslong SigAlert was issued as crews worked to turn the vehicle upright and clear the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The driver was initially missing, but was later found about a half mile from the crash site and taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, the CHP said.

The semitrailer was towed from the location and the closed lanes were reopened by 5:15 a.m. Wednesday.
