2 found fatally shot in San Pedro in apparent murder-suicide

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man and a woman were found dead in a van parked at a scenic overlook in San Pedro in what Los Angeles police described as an apparent murder-suicide.

Civilians found the deceased individuals around 8 a.m. Thursday in the area of Gaffey and 36th streets.

Police say the man shot the woman then turned the gun on himself.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the two dead at the scene.

The woman was described as being 43 years old. A description of the man was not immediately available. The names of the two individuals were not released pending notification of next of kin.
