Students in Lakewood collect toys, sports equipment for underserved children

LAKEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Students at St. Joseph High School in Lakewood have long been among the biggest supporters of ABC7's annual Spark of Love Toy Drive, and 2016 has proven no different.

This year pupils at the all-girls Catholic school have collected more than 100 toys and pieces of sports equipment for underserved children.

"It's a great experience because you know it's going somewhere worthy," said Maya Camacho, who attends St. Joseph High. "It's going to someone that might not have had these gifts."
