Seal Beach police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who beat a man over the head with a tire iron in an unprovoked attack at a gas station Sunday night.

CYPRESS, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old boy was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting a man with a tire iron at a Mobil gas station in Seal Beach.

Seal Beach police arrested the teen at about 9 a.m. at Holder Avenue and San Francisco Way in Cypress on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His identity was not released because he is a juvenile.

On the night of June 28, a 26-year-old man was getting gas in the 12000 block of Seal Beach Boulevard, when the suspect struck him from behind. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
