High winds left behind trails of debris for a second straight day in Southern California.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- High winds wreaked havoc for a second straight day as trees were sent toppling and power was knocked out to thousands in Southern California.

The Santa Ana winds began late Monday, knocking down trees and causing power outages to more than 13,000 customers in the Los Angeles area.

The winds battered the Southland again Tuesday morning as crews worked to clean up the debris and restore power.

A large tree crashed down onto a home in the 11500 block of La Maida Street in Valley Village, which was one of the hardest hit areas.

Strong winds also sent a tree toppling onto a car in Sherman Oaks late Monday evening.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said while thousands had their power restored, thousands of customers remained without power Tuesday morning.
