2 robbery suspects in custody after Chino standoff

CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Two robbery suspects were taken into custody Thursday afternoon following a standoff at a house in Chino.

The incident began at about 3:30 a.m. when a man was robbed at gunpoint, according to Chino police. The victim was not injured, and shortly after, the suspects barricaded themselves in a house in the 5700 block of Riverside Drive.

Nearby residents were advised to "shelter in place," as a SWAT team surrounded the home.

One suspect was taken into custody around 12:15 p.m. without further incident. A second suspect was taken into custody shortly after. Their names have not been released. SWAT team members searched the home and cleared it at about 1 p.m.

No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported during the standoff. Police say there may be more suspects who were involved in the standoff, and the investigation is ongoing.

Several streets in the area were shut down during the incident.
