SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two teens were stabbed during a fight involving about 20-25 people near Community Day Intermediate and High School in Santa Ana Friday.

The brawl occurred just before 3 p.m. near the continuation school in the 800 block of North Fairview Street.

A 14-year-old boy was transported to Garden Grove Community Hospital in serious condition and a 17-year-old boy was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center in stable condition.

Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says there may have been a third victim. The motive for the brawl remains unknown.

Investigators have not recovered the knife used in the stabbing. After the incident, Bertagna says the suspects ran into the neighborhood.

"We conducted a house-to-house search of a neighborhood just east of here. We had information that the suspects may have went into those residences and hid. We've located three individuals that we're detaining, trying to find out exactly what started the fight, who was involved, was there one stabbers or two stabbers," Bertagna said.

Two of the three teens who were detained for questioning have been arrested on charges related to the brawl.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information was urged to contact Santa Ana police at (714) 245-8390.
