Man dies after being shot, clipping side of a home with car in La Mirada

A man died at a hospital after being shot and crashing a car into the side of a home in La Mirada Friday afternoon.

Authorities said the incident happened in the 14100 block of Mansa Drive around 8:20 p.m.

When police arrived, they found the 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound inside the crashed vehicle. No other victims were inside the car.

Homicide Bureau investigators believe the victim was driving north on Parise Drive, turning onto Mansa Drive, while the suspect's vehicle turned south on Parise Drive from Mansa Drive. As the two vehicles passed each other, gunshots were fired from the suspect's car.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said the victim's vehicle traveled a few houses east on Mansa Drive and crashed into an attached garage at the residence.

The victim was shot in the upper torso and was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

Investigators said they found a gun inside the victim's vehicle. They were investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.
