VIDEO: Big rig crashes into Houston freeway sign, sends it crashing to the ground

HOUSTON -- Frightening video shows a big rig with its bucket raised striking a trestle over a Texas freeway, sending it crashing to the ground and crushing the truck.

The northbound lanes of the East Loop were shut down at Market Street as authorities worked to clean up the aftermath of the crash.

Video obtained by ABC7's sister station KTRK-TV shows another motorist attempting to warn the truck driver as the big rig approached the trestle.

The driver's condition was not immediately known.

Traffic was flowing again by late Thursday night.
