CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- Camarillo police arrested a 13-year-old believed to be responsible for two break-ins made in the middle of the night while residents were sleeping inside their homes.

Police say a resident in the 6200 block of Calle Bodega was awakened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday by noises from his garage.

He went out to check and found someone trying to open his rear sliding patio. He yelled at the person, who ran off, as another resident called 911.

Deputies searched the area and found a 13-year-old hiding in a nearby yard, and arrested him. They say he had possession of property stolen from the residence.

Detectives also determined the same juvenile was responsible for another burglary that happened on Aug. 7 in the 600 block of Arabian Place.

In that incident, a suspect entered the occupied home while the residents were sleeping. One of the residents woke up and the suspect fled.
