VIDEO: Lightning lights up night sky across Southland

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It was a wild night of weather for SoCal! In addition to the sweltering overnight heat, lightning lit up the night sky for parts of the Southland.

ABC7 cameras caught lightning strikes in Tujunga, La Canada Flintridge, Burbank as well as parts of the San Gabriel Valley.

Thunder and lightning was also reported in San Bernardino and Riverside early Thursday morning. The warm temperatures are causing rising air, which is producing the thunder and lightning.
