LA pickpockets use bird poop as a ruse to get close to victims
Authorities are urging the public to be on the lookout for a pair of pickpockets who use bird poop as a ruse to get close to their victims in the Hollywood area.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Authorities are urging the public to be on the lookout for a pair of pickpockets who use bird poop as a ruse to target their victims in the Hollywood area.

The first incident involved the two suspects, a man and woman, telling their victim that he had bird poop on him and offering to clean it off.

While pretending to wipe the man's back, the male suspect removed the victim's wallet from his pocket. The pair then walked away, got into an SUV and drove north on Sycamore Road.

During a second incident, the suspects distracted the victim and took his camera out of his backpack.

The male suspect is described as having dark hair, brown eyes, stands between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, between 170 and 180 pounds and may be 35 to 40 years old. He was wearing a blue and white checkered shirt, dark shorts and a black baseball hat.

The female suspect is described as having black hair, stands between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, between 130 and 150 pounds and between 35 and 40 years old. She was wearing a black shirt with floral print, black pants and a black hat.

The vehicle they fled in was a 2015 to 2017 silver Nissan Rogue with paper plates.
