Linkin Park to perform LA concert in October in tribute to Chester Bennington

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The date has been set for a one-night-only concert in Los Angeles by Linkin Park to pay tribute to late lead singer Chester Bennington.

Band members said in August that they were planning a public memorial for Benningtion in Los Angeles but did not release further specifics.

Warner Bros. Records announced on Monday that the show will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 27.

It will be the first time Linkin Park has performed since Bennington's suicide on July 20.

The band will be joined by a number of other artists.

Warner Bros. said individual band members intend to contribute their fees from the show to Music For Relief's One More Light Fund in memory of Bennington.

The band has also released its video for "One More Light," the title track from its latest album. The video features Bennington singing and archive footage.

The song had not been initially intended as a single. However, the strong connection with fans in the weeks following Bennington's death brought the track to the forefront, the band said in a statement.

In that same statement, the band's co-vocalist Mike Shinoda said the song is about "sending love to those who lost someone."

"We now find ourselves on the receiving end," Shinoda added. "In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can't wait to see you again."

Tickets for the Hollywood Bowl concert go on sale Friday.
