COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Reche Canyon area of Colton Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the crash happened around 5 p.m. near Reche Canyon Road and Scotch Lane. Colton police responded to a multiple-car crash.
When officers arrived, they found a motorcyclist suffering major injuries. He was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.
The man was identified as 59-year-old Perris resident Steven Owen Jarrell.
Authorities said the driver of a white Fiat, who had crashed into the motorcyclist, fled the scene on foot. Multiple agencies and a K-9 unit conducted a search for the suspect, but could not find the person.
