PARAMOUNT, Calif. (KABC) -- A 29-year-old man was killed and two others were injured early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash that stemmed from a bar brawl in Paramount, authorities and witnesses said.

Investigators are searching for the driver and passenger, both men in their 20s, who were in the dark sedan that struck the three individuals.

One witness, who declined to be publicly identified, said more than a dozen people were involved in the initial altercation, which spilled out of a bar in the 16000 block of Paramount Boulevard.

According to investigators, the fight made its way up the street before ending in the fatal collision about half a block from the establishment.

"During that bar fight, one of the suspects entered a vehicle. He drove northbound in the southbound lanes of Paramount Boulevard and struck the victim," said Lt. Joe Mendoza of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

That victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was not immediately identified.

The extent of the other two victims' injuries was unclear.

The lieutenant said the occupants of the vehicle should call the sheriff's department or turn themselves in, "because we'd really like to get their side of the story."

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
