After an elderly couple died in a wildfire, their sons are left to sort through the ruins of their home.

Charles and Sara Rippey, who were married for 75 years, passed away in the Atlas Peak Fire in Napa.

Their sons, Charles Jr. and Mike, returned to the condominium at the Silverado Country Club to see what remained from the fire.

"Everything, an accumulation of a lifetime," Charles Jr. said. "Fire doesn't care."

He said he finds comfort in the knowing his parents died together as that is what they would have wanted.

Charles Jr. said the couple "was happy right up until the last minute."

Charles and Sara Rippey were 100 and 98 years old, respectively.
