HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One man suffered minor injuries when a suspect stabbed him with a screwdriver along the busy Hollywood Boulevard Wednesday night.

Authorities said the incident happened inside of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The suspect left the hotel and ran out into the street, where a person was later found on the ground.

Street performer Tolysh Tapenko witnessed the incident.

"I saw a guy laying on the ground and all over the place, police all over the place. Just a lot of energy here - good and bad energy. (You have) people stealing, people fighting, people doing all the crazy stuff, robbing. It's not unusual," he said.

The person who was attacked suffered minor injuries, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Authorities took the suspect into custody.

The investigation was ongoing.
