MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Manhattan Beach police are searching for man suspected of trying to lure a young girl into his car.

Authorities said the incident happened on Oct. 29 in the 500 block of Valley Drive. A girl was walking home alone, when a man walked up behind her, offered her candy and asked for her age.

The girl avoided the man and ran to a friend's house. When she was walking back home from her friend's house, she saw the same man standing outside of a car. He told her she shouldn't be outside by herself and that she should get in his car so he could take her home.

The girl again ran away, this time to her home.

The suspect is described as a man with dark skin in his 30s. He has a medium build with muscular arms, short black hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a gray tank top and pants.

He was last seen driving a brown or green older model car, possibly a sedan, which was very dirty and may even have rust on it. It had a tan interior and bucket-style front seats.

Anyone with more information is urged to call Detective Aleina Smith at (310) 802-5133 or the tip line at (310) 802-5171.
