Albie Mushaney of Salem, Oregon is competing for the World's Strongest Man master's title and raising money to buy Christmas presents for the children of wounded veterans.

SALEM, Oregon (KABC) -- The Grinch better watch out: Jolly ol' Saint Nick is getting jacked.

A Santa Claus from Salem, Oregon is competing for the "World's Strongest Man" masters title in North Carolina next month.

Albie Mushaney says he was inspired to get in shape after battling diabetes.

"I was terribly out of shape, obese," he said. "Getting beat up by diabetes and I realized, you know, if I want to see my kids graduate from high school, I was going to have to lose some weight and get in shape."

And when he's not pumping iron, he's contributing to a good cause.

Mushaney has also launched Operation Big Bad Santa, which raises money to buy Christmas presents for the children of wounded vets.
