A person of interest was identified Saturday in the search for a suspect who led the California Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase.

CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- A person of interest was identified Saturday in the search for a suspect who led the California Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase.

CHP investigators said they want to speak with 31-year-old David Marc Oliver.

They said there is a warrant for his arrest, and he has a prior conviction for evading police.

Authorities began chasing a white GMC pickup truck around 10:30 p.m. Friday, after the driver allegedly failed to stop at a DUI checkpoint in Lakewood.

The driver eventually jumped out of the truck in Carson and was last seen running through a neighborhood in the 1800 block of E. 214th Street. CHP officials said Oliver resides in the area.

Anyone with knowledge of Oliver's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the CHP at (323) 982-4900.
