Family of victim in chilling San Jacinto double shooting speaks out
The family member of a young woman who tragically lost her life in a fatal double shooting in San Jacinto spoke out Thursday.

SAN JACINTO, Calif. (KABC) -- A major thoroughfare through San Jacinto was blocked off with crime tape for hours Wednesday night as detectives investigated what appeared to be a double murder.

A man and a woman were found shot to death inside a car, which appeared to have crashed in the weeds at the intersection of Warren Road and Ramona Expressway.

It's a mystery not only to police, but to family members of one of the victims.

"Please, anybody that has any information, please come forward," said Mona Lopez, one of the victims' aunt.

Mona Lopez said it was her niece, 21-year old Lauren Lopez, who was found dead inside the car, along with one of her friends. The windows of the vehicle -- riddled with bullets.

Visibly upset, Mona Lopez said the family came by the scene, partly because they wanted to see if there might be any nearby cameras that would have caught the crime on video.

She said Lauren Lopez's parents saw the car on TV Wednesday night, and they feared the worst.

For Riverside County sheriff's detectives, there's not much to go on except that from witness statements, the suspect is a man.

"If anybody knows anything at all, please come forward. We need to know what happened to her," Mona Lopez said as she held back tears.
