'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' star Clark Gregg has message for show's loyal fans
The stars of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." keep things moving in high gear as the series approaches 100 episodes.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was the first TV spinoff from the Marvel big-screen universe. Fans have been devoted to the show since its debut in 2013, and "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" star, Clark Gregg, says it's that fan support that keeps him going.

"I should be grateful because Coulson was killed off," said Gregg. "And I was happy because it was an amazing journey and you move on, but fans did a whole movement online, that he's not dead. Now here we are, we just shot our 100th episode, so I have a lot to be thankful to them for. And also I grew up liking stuff like this, so they feel like my people."

Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy, is one of those fans who is solidly "Team Clark Gregg."

"He's the clear leader of our show off-camera. He sets the tone," said Bennet. "But he doesn't take himself too seriously."

"I'm also the least mature," joked Gregg. "I'm double everyone's age and most likely to do something immature."

Gregg recently directed an episode of the series. Bennet said she's not sure if stepping behind the camera is in the cards for her future.

"I didn't go to college. I auditioned for the show when I was 19," said Bennet. "By the end of the season I'll be 26, so I've really grown up entirely on this show. My whole adult existence has been learning from the people around me. I could not ask for a better crew and cast to be surrounded by."

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs at nine o'clock on Friday nights on ABC.
