SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was found shot to death in the passenger seat of a Bentley convertible, while the driver was hospitalized in Santa Fe Springs Thursday night.

Authorities found the victim in the 9800 block of John Street. The million-dollar vehicle had its airbags deployed when the victim was found in the industrial area.

The driver was also shot but survived the injuries and was taken to a hospital. Authorities said he is speaking with officers as they searched for who shot them.

"We don't have any suspect description at this point. We're asking the public if they know anything about this case to contact us right away," said John Scoggins with Whittier police.

Police said there was not a lot of information to go on as to how it happened and what the motive may be. Earlier in the evening, police focused on a second location about a mile away from the vehicle because they thought it could be connected. But they later determined there was only one crime scene.

"The information that we have is that the shooting most likely occurred in this area...it seems as if a shooting did occur here at this location," Scoggins said.

Eyewitness News spoke with a man who worked security in the area. He said he was in sitting his car around the time of the shooting and saw a red Chevy Camero-style car circle the block three different times and then leave before police showed up.

Authorities could not confirm if that was the suspect vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
