Protesters in support of DACA descended on Disneyland Monday, temporarily blocking a vehicle entrance to the park.

"What do we want? Clean Dream Act!" The group chanted in unison as they stood on Harbor Boulevard holding signs.

Some of those gathered said they were DACA recipients and they believe their lives are being used as a bargaining chip in the budget battle between Republicans and Democrats that led to a three-day government shutdown.

The participants called their protest an act of "civil disobedience" and a "public disruption" and said it was aimed at applying pressure to Congress amid the ongoing fight over the status of undocumented youth in the U.S.

"When I was six my mom told us we were going to Disneyland," said protester Barbara Hernandez. "Only we stayed here longer. Now, 21 years later, I am still dreaming of a magical place, a land of opportunities and freedom. DACA is that magical place for about 800,000 young immigrants in this country, and we will continue to fight for permanent protection here at home."

Disney is the parent company of ABC and ABC7.
