STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Three armed burglary suspects who targeted two different residences in Studio City Tuesday were taken into custody following an hours-long search.

Police responded to the 13000 block of Bloomfield Street at about 10:40 a.m. following the incident, and a SWAT team was later deployed.

"Officers responded and observed three possible suspects abandoning a car. Officers set up containment and secured a perimeter around this area," LAPD Captain Stephen Carmona said. "During that containment, a second hot-prowl residential burglary occurred."

It's believed that second call was for the same three suspects who were trying to get away.

At one point, police feared that a housekeeper in one home may have been a hostage since she wasn't answering her phone.

"She secured herself or locked herself into the bathroom and phoned 911," Carmona said.

Police set up a rapid deployment team and went in and rescued the woman. LAPD surrounded the area and arrested one suspect at an apartment building in the 13000 block of Moorpark Street. K9 units were brought in and the entire area was sealed off.

After several hours, police found the remaining two outstanding suspects; one was hiding in bushes and the second was hiding inside a storage shed.

The three suspects, whose names were not immediately released, face weapons and burglary charges.
