3 injured in La Puente apartment fire

LA PUENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- Three people were injured in a fire that broke out in a La Puente apartment complex early Sunday morning.

Around 1:20 a.m. authorities received a call regarding a fire in an apartment complex in the 15400 block of East Francisquito Avenue.

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze by 1:45 a.m. A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy suffered minor injuries in the firefight.

A man and woman suffered severe burns and one unknown victim was in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but arson investigators were called to the scene.
