COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Three people suffered minor injuries when a vehicle smashed into a storefront in Compton Saturday night.

The Ford Mustang smashed into the glass front of a Shoe City store at Long Beach Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue just before 6 p.m.

Officials say the driver and two people who were inside the store were transported to a hospital for minor injuries from the impact. One of the injured store customers was a man in a wheelchair.

One witness said the female driver said she may have hit the gas instead of the brake. Sheriff's deputies are also investigating the possibility of a vehicle malfunction.
